I got about halfway across the cross-walk, when genius boy decided he'd idled long enough, and pulled out. I had just enough time to get out of the way and flip him off, which is lucky for him - if I'd had another second or two, I probably would've tried kicking in his door. A Clip of the Naruto Dub

Acutally, comparing it to the original version, the voices are fairly similar, and the acting's not too shabby. I mean, it could've been better, but it could've been a lot worse. Plus, look! Blood! And...and...good pronunciation! OMFG *spasms*

This thing might actually be watchable. *crosses fingers, and hopes*

I feel it is proper to announce two things today, in case anyone hasn't been paying attention. First of all, it is Jamie and I's 7 month anniversary, and I love her so, so, so, so, so much. Additionally, and this is the big bit...she's coming over for Christmas.

Saying I'm happy is a drastic understatement but, alas, I cannot find my thesaurus. So, I'll just stick with happy, exuberant, elated, jubilant, and ecstatic. Oh, and joyful. And pleased to no end. And fucking excited.

*sighs* I can't wait 3 months...

Oh, well. I shall struggle onwards! To victory! To joy! To LOVE!

And in other Naruto news...Naruto is being voiced by a woman! w00t! She, being Brianne Siddall, has got quite a rap-sheet, including Tsukasa from .hack, Jim Hawking from Outlaw Star, and KoEnma from Yu Yu Hakusho. What I've seen has usually been pretty good, and I'm confident she can at least pull off Naruto's frantic, hyper-spazzing moments...which is a lot of his moments, so it's good.

For the sake of my two Narutard companions, has been written in an Alternate Universe where the...events after the Chuunin Arc have yet to occur, so there should be little in the way of spoilers. Three years forward in time (a la the manga time-skip). There may well be vaguely sexist humor on both sides, so deal. First person to call me a sexist pig gets hurt in many inventive ways. Finally, I don't own jack diddly, except for Sodaisano Sakkaku and his underlings. Now, on to the madness!

Naruto airs on Cartoon Network.

It is, as I speak, August 23. That gives us approximately 18 days to grit our teeth and await the terror. Or, possibly, the mild greatness if ShoPro, the people who have liscenced Naruto, manage to pull off a good dub. Which is not a very high probability, considering that, in a rather unintelligent move by CN, Naruto is not airing on Adult Swim. They could've put it there, to air alongside other greats such as Full Metal Alchemist, Trigun, Samurai Champloo, and Cowboy Bebop, all of which almost entirely untouched by Censorship. But, alas, t'was not to be. Naruto is airing on Toonami, which happens to also share the One Piece dub - a travesty, in my humble opinion, though it was done by 4Kids, whom we can only hope is not the model of quality ShoPro is aiming for.

In fact, to confirm that this will occur, Cartoon Network has the Naruto Homepage up and running. And already, the pain begins. There is only one thing to look at on the page at the moment - Character profiles, for Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Iruka, and Kakashi. A good group, and little they can do wrong, ne? Wrong. I shall now quote the text, in its entirety, from Naruto's page.

"Naruto is a mischievous troublemaker struggling to develop his ninja skills. Although his village believes him to be cursed and treats him like an outcast (well, no, he is an outcast), Naruto has good intentions and dreams of becoming the leader of his ninja clan someday."

Ah, well...we can only hope for the best. And, at least, we have Steven Blum as Kakashi to look forward to...even if Sasuke seems like his voice was mis-cast, and I have no idea who the people playing Hinata and the Hokage are.
